Auto Mechanic responsibilities include:
- Inspecting vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately
- Inspecting vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade
- Conducting routine maintenance work aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity

- Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity
- Schedule future maintenance sessions and advise motorists on good vehicle use
- Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks)
- Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job
- Keep logs on work and issues
- Maintain equipment and tools in good condition
- Work safely, wear safety gear, keep work area clean and organized.
- Use Echo System / Echo services and vehicle information
- Direct the vehicle into the bay
- Place fender covers on the vehicle
- Perform light check and check/fill automatic transmission fluid(when applicable), condition and level of oil, power steering fluid, windshield washer fluid, coolant, battery electrolyte
- Remove and check emissions components: Replace top-side oil filter, when applicable. air filter, cabin air filter, breather, and radiator cap. Deliver emissions components to center manager for customer presentation. when applicable Install emissions components
- Perform visual inspection of belts, hoses, and other hood compartment components, document unusual conditions
- Perform additional services, as needed, perform final safety and quality check
- Record information on Work Order
- Proven experience as auto mechanic
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles
- Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
- Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift)
- Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
- Excellent physical condition
- High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is preferred
- Valid certification (e.g ASE) is a definite plus
- Customer service skills Basic literacy (ready, writing, math skills) Verbal communication skills
- Ability and license to operate motor vehicles
- Ability to properly use mechanical hand tools
- Attention to detail
- Previous experience or training - Minimum 3 months actual experience or supervised training as a hood technician required
